Myrtle Beach Tops TripAdvisor Best Beach Location..Again!

For the second year in a row, Myrtle Beach has won the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice “Best Beach Destination” award. Known for its 60 miles of sandy beaches, warm ocean waters, and tons of family oriented entertainment, Myrtle Beach should be your 2011 family road trip travel and leisure destination.

The city of Myrtle Beach and surrounding Grand Strand, have worked hard the past few years to upgrade and improve an already great family experience. 2010 saw the addition of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, which in itself has garnered a top finish as Number 1 Boardwalk. The opening of Broadway at the Beach’s Wonderworks, a new attraction that features a huge upside down house, blends fun, games and rides with learning. For the adrenaline junkies, both young and young at heart, a Zipline and Rope Course were added to Broadways attractions list.

Also in the works for Myrtle Beach leisure is the SkyWheel, the largest ferris wheel on the east coast. The SkyWheel, located adjacent to Plyler Park on the boardwalk, will include 42 climate controlled enclosed gondolas for an unbelievable riding experience.

Ocean Boulevard has been undergoing a resurfacing and widening this past year to include more turn lanes and improved pedestrian walkways.
